Simply put, we want people of all ages, beliefs, political views, and ethnic backgrounds to come play together around something important. Can we save the world from climate change or is it impossible? I'm not going to convince you, and you are not going to convince me, but maybe playing together might bring us closer to understanding each other and what is at stake.
When people hear the word "sequester", "carbon capture", "recycling", "Celsius", their eyes glaze over. Yes, many people understand that climate change is bad, but what do all these terms used really mean? This game will show the actions and consequences of climate scenarios based on innovations, money, city building, population and policy changes.
All players are trying to sequester as much carbon as possible before the year 2050. If the goal is not met, the game is lost, mostly. If there are any survivors, they can attempt to rebuild and bring players back into the game. At the end, money and carbon are counted and one player becomes king of the world, so to speak.
This site will be the place where game artist and game designers can meet and work together to help each other launch art careers and game designs.
